General Mechanics
Understanding the core rules of the trial is the key between life and death. Whether you are repairing, looting, or saving a teammate, every action in the realm operates under the Entity's strict mechanics.
⚙️ Generators
The primary objective for Survivors is to repair generators scattered across the map to power the Exit Doors.
Map Layout
There are always 8 generators spawned per map. The number of generators you must complete depends on the selected difficulty. On Auto Difficulty, the formula is always: Survivor Count + 1.
Repairing
Up to 3 survivors can work on a single generator simultaneously to speed up the process.
Progression & Stacks
- Each generator is divided into 5 repair stacks (stages).
- During each stack, there is a chance to trigger a QTE (Quick Time Event) that you must succeed to avoid an explosion.
- Completing a stack emits a loud mechanical noise.
- You can use a Repair Kit item to instantly skip one entire stack.
- When fully completed, the generator will emit bright lights, fumes, and a loud powering-up noise.
Slasher Interaction
The Slasher can damage your progress. By kicking a partially repaired generator, they will instantly reverse and destroy 1 stack of reparation.
Once the required number of generators is completed by the team, the trial instantly enters the Escape-Phase.
📦 Items & Chests
Items can be obtained via your equipped Perks or by looting Chests found in semi-random locations across the map.
Chest Spawns
Normal chests can drop any item from any tier based on drop rates (except the Key). However, there is always ONE Legendary Chest hidden per game, which guarantees a Legendary item.
Injection
Grants a temporary movement speed boost to help you distance yourself in a chase.
Holy Water
Can be thrown directly at the Slasher to temporarily slow and blind them.
Aura of Protection
Spawns a circular aura on the ground. Any survivor standing inside gains a temporary one-hit shield.
Bandage
Heals you from one health state (one hit) instantly.
Repair Kit
Instantly repairs 1 stack (stage) of a generator.
Defibrillator
Instantly skips 95% of the revival stages of a downed survivor.
Cursed Sight
Forces the Slasher's aura to glow through walls for a short duration.
The Key
(Only drops from the Legendary Chest). Used to open Exit Doors much faster, or to instantly re-open the Escape Trap-Door if the Slasher has closed it during the Escape-Phase.
❤️ The Revive System
Survival is a team effort. When taking two hits from the Slasher, a survivor enters the dying state.
- First Down: The first time you are downed, you will be incapacitated and forced to sit exactly where you were hit.
- Bleeding Out: While downed, you slowly lose life. If nobody comes to your aid in time, you will die.
- Recovery: At each life state while downed, you will face QTEs. Succeeding them helps speed up your own recovery process for your teammates.
- The Rescue: Teammates can stand near you to channel a revive. Using a Defibrillator makes this process almost instantaneous.
- One Chance: You can only be revived ONCE per game. The second time you are downed, it is a permanent death.
🚪 Exit Doors
The main way to escape the nightmare.
Powering the Gates
There are exactly 2 Exit Doors per map. Their opening mechanism can ONLY be interacted with once the Escape-Phase has started (all required generators completed).
The Computers
Each door is linked to 2 nearby computers. Survivors must interact with these terminals to initiate the opening sequence. Having a Key allows you to bypass the long interaction time.
Once a door is fully opened, any survivor passing through the threshold immediately escapes and wins their game.
🕳️ Escape Trap-Door
A final, desperate measure for the last survivor standing.
- Location: The Trap-Door spawns in a semi-random position chosen from 4 possible fixed locations per map.
- Activation: It will only open automatically if the game is in the Escape-Phase AND there is only one player left alive in the trial.
- Escaping: Jumping into an open Trap-Door guarantees an instant win.
- Slasher Intervention: The Slasher can find the open Trap-Door and manually close it, trapping the last survivor.
- The Last Hope: If the Trap-Door is closed by the killer, the only way to re-open it is by using a Legendary Key.
